Background Information	LSD1 (lysine specific demethylase 1), also known as BHC110, and KDM1, is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates Lys4 of histone H3. Methylation of Histone H3 Lys4 is a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation, suggesting a role for LSD1 as a corepressor. LSD1 plays a role in a number of chromatin-remodeling pathways and has been linked to pathological processes, such as tumorigenesis.
