Immunoprecipitation: 5 μL of antibody is sufficient to precipitate alpha1 containing integrin dimers from 5x10E6 cells (Rossinoi, 1990).

Immunohistochemistry Suggested for use an acetone fixed tissue only. This antibody has been reported to react in 4% PFA fixed monkey tissue treated with citrate at 1:200 (Qin, 2003).

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

Specificity Integrin alpha1. Specificity determined by immunoprecipitation from a detergent extract of 35S methionine labeled neuroblastoma cells. The epitope recognized is on the cytoplasmic domain of the protein and it is thus intracellular. No cross-reactivity to alpha2, alpha3, alpha4, alpha5, alpha6, or alphaV integrin subunits.

The heterodimeric receptor is involved in cell-cell adhesion and may play a role in inflammation and fibrosis. The alpha 1 subunit contains an inserted (I) von Willebrand factor type I domain which is thought to be involved in collagen binding.
