Background Information HOXB7 (Homeobox protein B7) is a sequence-specific transcription factor belonging to the HOX family of proteins. These proteins have important roles in embryogenesis, pattern formation and other developmental systems. HOXB7 contains a single homeobox binding domain and has been deomonstrated to be involved in determining positional identify of the anterior-posterior axis of developing embyros.
