[1] The IP KIT contains anti-HNMT magnetic Beads (2 mg/mL) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.4) with sodium azide (0.1%).
[2] Using NP-40 cell lysate buffer in the kit is required, otherwise, the magnetic beads may be precipitated.
[3] Shipping: Magnetic Beads kits are shipped at ambient temperature in which magnetic beads are provided in liquid buffer.
Anti-HNMT Magnetic Beads-IP Kit Product Description
The Anti-HNMT magnetic Beads, conjugated with Anti-HNMT antibody, are used for immuneprecipitation (IP) of HNMT proteins which expressed in vitro expression systems. For IP, the beads are added to a sample containing HNMT proteins to form a bead-protein complex. The complex is removed from the solution manually using a magnetic separator. The bound HNMT proteins are dissociated from the magnetic beads using an elution buffer. Anti-HNMT Magnetic Beads-IP Kit Antibody Information

HNMT Background Information
Histamine-N-methyltransferase (HNMT), the major enzyme for the metabolism of histamine in rat brain, is potently inhibited by 9-amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridine (tacrine). Methylation is an important pathway in the biotransformation of many drugs, neurotransmitters, and xenobiotic compounds. Histamine N-methyltransferase (HNMT) catalyzes the N tau-methylation of histamine and structurally related compounds. Histamine N-methyltransferase (HNMT) is believed to be the sole pathway for termination of the neurotransmitter action of histamine in mammalian brain. That highlight the importance of inclusion of HNMT for genetic testing of individuals presenting with intellectual disability.
Full Name
