Preparation and Storage
Background: ESAM
ESAM (Endothelial Cell-selective Adhesion Molecule) is an endothelial cell-associated member of the CTX subgroup of the Ig superfamily. ESAM is a 55-kDa protein that participates in calcium-independent homophilic binding on the surface of endothelial cells and platelets. It is associated with tight and adherens junctions, and possibly impacts transendothelial cell migration along with FGF-2.
