Background: LPAR5/LPA5/GPR92
LPAR5/LPA5/GPR92 is a member of the rhodopsin class of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). This protein transmits extracellular signals from lysophosphatidic acid to cells through heterotrimeric G proteins and mediates numerous cellular processes. GPR92 is abundantly expressed by human mast cells and important for lysophosphatidic acid induced MIP-1 beta release. GPR92 expression in chronic lymphocytic leukemia leads to cell survival mediated though vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression.
