Background: CCR11
CCR11, also known as CCRL1, is a G protein-coupled receptor member of the CC chemokine subfamily of receptors. Human CCR11 is 350 amino acids (aa) in length with a predicted molecular weight of 40 kDa. Mouse and rat CCR11 share 85% aa sequence identity with the human protein. Most chemokine receptors exhibit promiscuous binding properties whereby several different chemokines signal through the same receptor. CCR11 acts as a decoy receptor and is not known to initiate intracellular signaling cascades.
