Background: IGSF4A/SynCAM1
IGSF4, also known as SynCam and Nectin-like-2, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to a group of calcium-independent cell adhesion molecules involved in a variety of cell-to-cell interactions. Its extracellular region contains three C2 Ig-like domains, which participate in homo and heterophilic interactions. Its membrane-proximal cytoplasmic domain contributes to tumor suppression. It is found on mast cells, neurons, and dendritic cells.
