Background: STEAP1
STEAP1 (six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of the prostate-1) is a 40 kDa protein of the STEAP family of metalloreductases. It is expressed mainly at cell-cell junctions between prostate secretory epithelium, and is upregulated in prostate and some bladder, colon and ovarian cancers and Ewing’s sarcomas.
