The Corning Ultra Low Attachment Surface is a covalently bound hydrogel layer that is hydrophilic neutrally charged. Since proteins other biomolecules passively adsorb to surfaces through hydrophobic ionic interactions, this hydrogel surface naturally inhibits nonspecific immobilization via these forces, thus inhibiting subsequent cell attachment.
This Ultra Low Attachment Surface has been shown to successfully inhibit attachment of anchorage dependent MDCK, VERO, C6 cells grown for a period of time equal to that necessary to obtain confluent cell growth on the control surface (standard tissue culture treated polystyrene). This surface has also been shown to prevent the attachment activation of macrophages neutrophils.
Vent caps contain a 0.2 μm non-wettable membrane sealed to the cap, providing consistent, sterile gas exchange while minimizing the risk of contamination. These caps are highly recommended for use in all CO2incubators, especially for long-term use. Canted neck flasks allow easier pouring improved access to the flask for pipetting scraping. Rectangular flasks have a ramp from the bottom to the canted neck for easier pouring pipette access have an anti-tip skirt to enhance stability. Surface is non-cytotoxic, biologically inert, non-degradable.
